Slip and fall accidents occur at the rate of nearly 1 million times per year. What a staggering statistic. Of those slip and fall accidents here are a few facts.

 

1 - 300, 000 are people are hurt or disabled

 

2 - 17,000 people die

 

3 - Second highest accidental death rate in United States only behind vehicle accidents

 

4 - The average cost of an employee slip and fall is 26,000. That amount increases dramatically as second party lawsuits begin.

 

 

PROTECT YOURSELF. There are several things that you as a commercial snow and ice management contractor can do to help minimize the RISKS associated with these accidents. A few include; utilizing proper ice melting products for the temperature and conditions that they are expected to work, timely and proper application rates, and documenting each and every application and event. Although you may never be able to remove your company from the risks of a lawsuit, you can properly protect your company and your client by maintaining proper records.
